This video was made in 2004 as a result of a week's residency, along with two other artists in The Changing Room gallery, Stirling.

My work often involves involves the public and for this I chose to use digital photography and video in order to interact with members of the public.

But the subsequent video I made as a result of the residency has never been seen - until now- thanks to You Tube.

Carving in stone may be deeply unfashionable in some artistic circles- after all its no longer taught at art colleges- but there is no doubting the ability of stone to resonate with the human spirit throughout the ages- from the cave paintings in Spain to its popularity with the public today.

A dozen sculptors from as far afield as Canada, Germany, France, Norway as well as Ireland, England and of course Scotland had been invited to make work in the grounds of the castle for a week .

Made this film in The Manggha Centre of Japanese Art and Technology, Krakow. This centre is the pet project of that grand old man of Polish cinema Andrzej Wajda and was opened in 1994. Worth a visit to Krakow just to see it.

The Molendinar Burn - Blackhill, Glasgow

I made this film while artist in residence with the Blackhill and Provanmill communities last year in Glasgow. This is a short extract from a twenty minute film which aimed to show positive aspects of the community, while at the same time covering all age groups and features the Molendinar Burn which historically is where Glasgow was founded.
This was a Royston Road Project which uses the arts to help urban regeneration.
